Ridweng Studios Website Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ridweng Studios ("Ridweng Studios", "we", "us" or "our") handles personal information when you visit ridwengstudios.com (the "website"), or contact us. It does not cover our games: Bluffers has its own Privacy Policy at https://ridwengstudios.com/bluffers/privacy/.

1. Who is responsible

Ridweng Studios is an independent game studio based in London, United Kingdom. The controller for the personal information described in this policy is Alex Ignacio Sebastian Kaiser Cifuentes.

Privacy contact: contact@ridwengstudios.com

2. When you browse the website

When you visit the website, a limited amount of technical information is processed:

  • server logs kept by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request, which are used to deliver the website and protect it from abuse; and
  • visit statistics collected by Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, such as the pages viewed, the site that referred you, your browser, device type, language and approximate country, which we only ever see in aggregate.

Umami does not use cookies and does not store your IP address. We do not use cookies for analytics or advertising, and the website has no advertising trackers or social media plugins. The Ko-fi panel on the Buy Me a Coffee page is the one piece of another service embedded in the website (see section 4). Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary security measures, which can include a short-lived security cookie, to protect the website from automated abuse.

3. When you contact us

The contact form sends your message through Web3Forms, a form delivery service that forwards it to our inbox. It carries your name, email address, the type of enquiry, the subject and your message, and the language of the page you used. Before it is sent, the form runs hCaptcha, a security check by Intuition Machines, Inc., to tell people from automated spam: hCaptcha processes technical information such as your IP address, browser and how you interact with the check, under its own privacy policy (https://www.hcaptcha.com/privacy), and may use its own cookies for that purpose.

When you write to us, through the contact form or by email, we receive your email address, your name and anything else you choose to include.

We use this information only to read and reply to your message, to keep in touch about the matter you raised, and to keep a record of our correspondence.

4. Supporting the studio

The Buy Me a Coffee page shows Ko-fi's contribution panel, embedded from Ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com). When that page opens, your browser loads the panel from Ko-fi, which receives the technical information any website does, such as your IP address, and may use its own cookies. If you choose to contribute, the payment is made through Ko-fi and processed by Ko-fi and its payment partners. Ko-fi handles that information as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

We receive the information Ko-fi shares with creators, such as your name or display name, the amount, the date and any message you add. We use it only to record and acknowledge your support and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We never see your full card or bank details.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), we rely on:

  • our legitimate interests in running a secure website, understanding in aggregate how it is used, and replying to people who contact us; and
  • our legal obligations, where we must keep records of contributions for tax and accounting purposes.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and our email, such as Cloudflare, Umami, Web3Forms, hCaptcha and our email provider, who process it on our behalf, and where the law requires us to.

Some of these providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards the law requires, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

Server logs and analytics data are kept for the periods set by Cloudflare and Umami. We keep correspondence for as long as the conversation it belongs to needs it, and no longer than two years after our last exchange unless we are working together and need it for longer. Records of contributions are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, normally six years.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to data portability, and, where we rely on your consent, to withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact contact@ridwengstudios.com. We will reply within one month.

You may also complain to your local data-protection authority, without first contacting us. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office: https://ico.org.uk/.

9. Children

The website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us your details.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
